The Zoo

The Giza zoo was established and opened for the public in the times of "khedive Ismail" in 1891. It is one of the most important and oldest zoos in the world. The garden is about 85 feddans and is considered as part of the cultural heritage. Scientific methods were implemented in the comprehensive development of the garden and in keeping its old constructions the zoo has a big and rare group of animals and trees.

It has five high located sites:

·        Royal site

·        "Sheridan" cave

·        Creativity cave

·        Mountain site

·        "wishes" cave

The zoo has an experimental house, labs, reproduction labs,

A park for children,  conference halls, a library for children and a library for wildlife.
